As 2013 Comes to a Close … Enough is Enough!

Horsford— by Rep. Steven Horsford, NV-CD4

As 2013 comes to a close, I’d love to reflect on the 113th Congress as one of accomplishments for the American people.  Instead, we’re facing the prospect of another shutdown on January 15th if obstructionists in the House continue to play their games.

On issue after issue that the American people care about, obstructionists in the House have blocked votes and refused to do anything.  Whether it’s the Farm Bill, Immigration Reform, Unemployment Insurance, a Jobs Bill, or the 2014 budget, a small fringe group has blocked any progress in the House.

I know that this is not what you expect from your elected representatives.  You sent me to Congress to be your voice and to work across party lines and represent Nevada’s interests.

We can’t let a small group of obstructionists hold progress for our state and the entire country back. We have to put a stop to this mentality that ideology should trump reasonable compromise and consensus.

Will you join me and tell Speaker Boehner and his band of obstructionists that enough is enough? Click here to sign your name and tell them that Congress should be doing the work of the people, not the bidding of an intractable minority.

Thank you for joining me in standing up for what’s right,
