Call Kihuen, “an energetic and consistent advocate for Nevada’s working families”
Las Vegas, NV – The 17,000 represented workers and their families of SEIU Local 1107 are proud to endorse Senator Ruben Kihuen for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District.
“Since he was first elected to the Nevada State Assembly in 2006, Senator Kihuen has been an energetic and consistent advocate for Nevada’s working families,” said Cherie Mancini, President of SEIU Local 1107. “Senator Kihuen, being raised in a labor family, understands firsthand the struggles that face the working people of Nevada. I am confident he will be as strong of a voice for the middle class in Washington, D.C. as he was in Carson City.”
Senator Kihuen’s work during the 2015 legislative session to raise wages and equal pay for equal work for Nevadans only further highlight his commitment to Nevada’s working class families.
“We’re going to be with him every step of the way,” said Deb Springer, Clark County employee and Trustee for SEIU Local 1107. “Through his experience and performance, Ruben Kihuen has proven to the membership that he has the integrity, vision and knowledge to be a great congressman for Nevada’s 4th District,” said Springer.
“I proudly stood with SEIU and their members as we’ve fought for a $15 minimum wage, safer staffing standards and a renewed commitment to worker’s rights in Nevada and I am honored to earn their support as we take these fights to Congress,” said State Senator Ruben Kihuen. “The 4th deserves a voice for working families, not Congressman Hardy who has been a voice for the wealthy and elite.”
Kihuen’s campaign has previously been endorsed by U.S. Senator Harry Reid, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, 7 labor unions representing nearly 30,000 Nevadans and many other local and national leaders. You can see all of Kihuen’s endorsements at www.rubenforcongress.com/endorsements.
State Senator Ruben Kihuen is running as a Democrat in Nevada’s 4th Con
gressional District. Ruben has a proven record of real results for working families. Born in Mexico, Ruben and his family immigrated to the United States in search of a better life. He worked his way through college and after graduation was inspired to “pay it forward” by working with other students at College of Southern Nevada. In the legislature, Ruben helped craft landmark bi-partisan bills increasing funding for our schools and making college more affordable, and he beat back a reckless Republican agenda attempting to dismantle worker’s rights, restrict women’s health care and repeal LGBTQ protections. Ruben is running for Congress to ensure everyone has a fair shot at the American Dream.
