Why It’s Important to Vote in Mid-Term Elections!

I don’t know what Sen. Dean Heller has done (or not done) in Washington, but clearly, he’s not just disliked at home in Nevada. On Sunday’s 60 Minutes, Breitbart’s Steve Bannon let the world know that he has put Heller first and foremost on his “Enemies List” pretty much making him the #1 most vulnerable Senator in the 2018 race for re-election.

While a number of Democrats are considering a run for the seat, including Rep. Dina Titus and Rep. Jacky Rosen, Nevada’s perennial candidate, Danny Tarkanian has stepped up to the plate yet again.  If anything, Tarkanian has proven yet again WHY it’s important that every single Democrat makes it to the polls in 2018 to vote for someone who will actually represent Nevadans, not every whim of President Trump.

He appeared on “The Beat with Ari Melber” on MSNBC on Monday, 9/11/2017.  Take a moment to watch his performance.  I don’t know about you, but that’s NOT who I want representing my interests in the U.S. Senate:

Benghazi Review Board Chair Says Notion Of Cover Up Is ‘Pulitzer Prize Fiction’

— by Ben Armbruster

Amb Thomas Pickering.fw

The co-chair of the State Department’s Accountability Review Board on the Benghazi terror attacks last year said on Wednesday criticized those claiming the Obama administration’s response to the attacks has the elements of some kind of Watergate-style cover-up.“I think the notion of a quote, cover up, has all the elements of Pulitzer Prize fiction attached to it,” former Ambassador Thomas Pickering said on MSNBC. He also rebutted claims that the review board tried to protect former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from scrutiny:

PICKERING: I saw no evidence of it. She did publicly take responsibility for what happened below her and indeed one of the things the Congress did in preparing the legislation that established the Accountability Review Board was to say we don’t want a situation where heads of agencies take responsibility and then nobody who made the decision in the chain has to suffer any consequences for failure for performance. I believe in fact the Accountability Review Board did it’s work well. I think the notion of a quote, cover up, has all the elements of Pulitzer Prize fiction attached to it.

Pickering wanted to testify at today’s House Oversight Committee hearings on the Benghazi attacks, which was billed as letting State Department officials expose an Obama administration cover-up of wrong-doing in handing the aftermath of the attacks. “I am willing to testify,” Pickering said. “I made that clear yesterday and the White House I understand made that clear to [Committee chair Rep. Darrell] Issa [R-CA]. He declined. I don’t know the reasons for that.” Pickering also countered claims that the military could have done more to respond to the attacks:

PICKERING: The aircraft at Aviano were 2 to 3 hours away but there were no refueling aircraft available. I think that speaks for itself. It has all along. I don’t see any contradiction. … There should be no controversy over that. Aircraft were there but they were not available in a time span that could have made any serious difference in connection with the issue.

Earlier on Wednesday, Republican Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) shot down his colleagues’ conspiracy theory laden claims about the Obama administration and Benghazi. “We need to know were these people culpable or not. If they were, why are they still on the payroll? Other than that, I’ve been able to read all the cables. I’ve seen the films,” Corker said. “I feel like I know what happened in Benghazi. I’m fairly satisfied.”

Chris Matthews Explodes at Reince Priebus on Morning Joe over RNC PR BS

Watch as MSNBC’s Chris Matthews takes on RNC Chair Reince Priebus about all of the RNC PR BS on the Morning Joe show.  He stays fairly cool for some time listening to all of Mr. Priebus’ BS, but he eventually explodes and goes after him.

Personally, I was offended by a number of comments made by and the arrogance of Mr. Priebus. Here’s just one instance where Matthews took him on:

Reince Priebus: “I think Obama’s policies have created a sense that, for whatever reason, he’s looking guidance as far as health care is concerned, as far as our spending is concerned, as far as these stimulus packages are concerned, that he’s looking to Europe for guidance.”

Chris Matthews: “What? Where do you get this from? That’s insane. You mean the fact that every president we’ve had has tried to offset the economic cycle with stimulus going the other direction is somehow European?”

And what did Mr. Priebus do … he smirked and chuckled.  Excuse me?  If President Obama were looking to Europe, he would have cut the crap out of absolutely everything to institute “AUSTERITY” just as they’ve done in Europe … and that HAS NOT worked in Europe.

In another spot in the show segment, Mr. Priebus explains how Mitt Romney’s comment that “nobody’s ever asked me for my birth certificate” was the poor execution of a joke.  A joke?  Really?  Where’s the joke in that?  It’s pure birtherism.  Somebody should ask Mr. Romney about his dad’s Mexican birth certificate and Mitt’s own anchor baby status.  Let’s see if he takes that as a joke.

“That cheap shot about ‘I don’t have a problem with my birth certificate’ was awful,” said Matthews. “It is an embarrassment to your party to play that card. This stuff about getting rid of the work requirement for welfare is dishonest, everyone’s pointed out it’s dishonest, and you are playing that little ethnic card there. You can play your games and giggle about it, but the fact is your side is playing that card. When you start talking about work requirements, we know what game you’re playing, and everybody knows what game you’re playing, it’s a race card.”

A new Romney ad purports: “On July 12th, President Obama quietly announced a plan to gut welfare reform by dropping work requirements. Under Obama’s plan, you wouldn’t have to work and wouldn’t have to train for a job. They just send you your welfare check.”  They continue to run that ad and others even though fact-checking sites have clearly sited it as FALSE.  Fact-checking website PolitiFact says Romney’s claims are“pants on fire” bogus. The Washington Post‘s fact checker awarded four Pinocchios, its highest rating.  And Annenberg Public Policy Center’s FactCheck.org  the claims as false.

Mr. Priebus gloated that “the President’s policies simply haven’t worked.”  Now—that is pure bull puckey!  The President’s policies “SIMPLY” haven’t had an inkling of a chance as they’ve been pretty much blocked from being considered or voted upon, in their entirety, in both the House and the Senate by Republicans whose sole purpose in life is to “ensure President Obama is nothing more than a ‘one-term’ President.”

I consider the actions of the GOP members of Congress as being treasonous in their very nature and intent.  They were elected to serve the people … and instead, they’ve done nothing than “serve themselves” at the expense of the American people.

Heller Insults Not Just Spanish-Speakers, But ALL Nevadans

Heller Has “Managed to Insult Every Spanish-Speaking person in Nevada”
AS WELL AS “every English-speaking person in the State of Nevada”

Las Vegas, NV – That’s going to leave a mark. Last night, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow called out Sen. Dean Heller over his papering over his record on immigration issues on his Spanish-language website – something Heller failed to do on his English-language one.  This comes after the Las Vegas Sun reported earlier this week that Heller’s English-language website includes rhetoric on immigration issues that is apparently missing from the Spanish-language website. Did he really think Nevadans didn’t know how to use Google translation services?  Given his opposition to the DREAM Act and comprehensive immigration reform, we wonder why he intentional information of his “en Español” version of his site.  Was the intent to deceive?
